This Central American nation has a rich history and delightful blend of culture. The Belize Barrier Reef is a series of coral reefs off the coast, and is one of the country’s top tourist destinations. If you like scuba diving and/or snorkelling, this is definitely for you; especially so because Belize is also home to one of the world’s most spectacular dive sites, the Great Blue Hole! History buffs will enjoy visiting Actun Tunichil Muknal, a cave in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve that has many relics from the Mayans including human sacrificial remains, and Mayan ruins like Caracol, Xunantunich, Altun Ha and Lamanai. Belize also has some beautiful beaches- who doesn’t love a holiday by the beach?
This Caribbean territory is a popular tourist destination for many reasons, not the least of which include the gorgeous tropical climate and renowned traditional cuisine (like arroz con gandules and pasteles), which is now beloved around the world. Be sure to visit Old San Juan, the oldest settlement within Puerto Rico. With an abundance of restaurant, museums, historic sites and gorgeous architecture, this would be a great destination for your wedding! While you’re there, make sure you visit the San Juan National Historic site, which protects many colonial era forts.
This central Italian region is home to Florence and is generally regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. The region is almost like a country on its own, and has an abundance of possible wedding locations! Art lovers will delight in visiting the many museums and art galleries dotted around the region. If you love wine, you will definitely love Tuscany, home of Chianti and many other wines, and you may even want to consider having your wedding at a winery. Be sure to add locations like Montepulciano, Pienza, Elba, Pisa and Siena to your list!

After all, there’s a reason that it’s considered one of the happiest countries in the world. Denmark, along with Norway and Sweden, was one of the homelands of Vikings way back in the day, and some Viking attractions still remain, including burial sites and settlements. Literature lover? Kronborg Castle, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the setting of Hamlet, and is perfect for a wedding reception; the Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense is dedicated to the famous Danish author’s life and work. If you love castles, you can’t miss Egeskov Castle; it’s straight out of a fairy tale!
